Why so cold?

Hi everyone!
Here there are some of the pictures that was taken during the trip.

This was one of the first pictures with my friend Paula. I was talking with my girlfriend at the cellphone!!

When we arrived we just go directly to our bedrooms because it was a long trip.
At the morning were sightseeing near our building which its near the millenium park and some of the beautiest buildings in chicago.

In our second night we walk to the north through Michigan Ave. Chicago river was with ice floating in it and there was some fog to so we could see beauty colors in the city!!. There was an old BMW Izzeta in a store!!. In Chile we call them "huevitos".
Picasso statue... its a huge structure located in a square nears us, its beautiful and mysterious.

This is one of the structures that I love to see everyday from our street, the Jay Pritzker Pavilion, designed by Frank Gehry in 1999.
Its located in the Millenium Park and in there is usual to see some concerts but not now in the winter because there isnt roof!
This picture was taken at the beginning of the snow storm that we had the last weekend!

The last week I knew that there is a friend of me from Santiago here in Chicago! Karina is with her uncle's house. They invited my to go with them to the Chicago Botanic Garden! Of course I said yes.

Here it is a Zig-Zag bridge at the Japanese garden. Why? Well, the answer its excellent! the bad spirits in Asia go from one point to another in straight lines so thats why in this little islands there are connected with this bridges to prevent them.

And this picture was taken on the 9th floor of the public library.

I hope that you like this pictures! There will be more.
Bye!!!

Second Post!!

Ok, this is homework jaja

In our third day of excursion with Kendall College and our teachers we
were at the Harold Washintong library.

The truth it`s that the only think that I enjoy in the building was be at the 9th floor, the last one. It have a huge glass dome and in there are a little garden with some tables and chairs
to enjoy this peacefull place.

On the third floor if I`m right, there is a science room with some people who do some innovating proyects  like softwares to print in 3D or cut things with a lot of designs... wathever you want. And the other floors, there are just like an office.

The people here are usually nice and happy so it`s easier to talk with chicagoons but there is to many indigents who many of them are crazy!!
The transport here it`s very efficient but the polution in the CTA (public trasnport) it's horrible and the subway smells bad!!! And there are to many people in Chile who said that our Metro (Subway) it´s horrible.

I enjoys walk arround trough the streets and see all the buildings and the details on the bridges, tops of the buildings, the balconies, people, etc. It doesn`t matter if I`m alone because I can do what I want with my time and see every detail with the time that I need. Of course I enjoy too be with my classmates and talk with all of them.

Everyday at Kendall we have buffet at the morning, at lunch ant at the dinner! This is one of the best parts... but we must to take care because we can get a "Kendal kilo"!! because there are to much food.
The food it´s good but it have to much calories because it´s cooked with salt, sugar, oil, and many ingredients. We have to eat a lot of food because there is to cold! jaja

I miss my family and my girlfriend :( and my bed too jaja
I live in the middle of "Sanhattan" (the bussines neighborhood in Santiago) so there are to many new buildings, the best stores, restorants, it´s one of the best nightlife places in Santiago... but nothing it´s perfect, there are to much traffic and people so the noise its similar than here in chicago except for one thing, in my neighborhood the Subway it´s under the ground and nobody can hear it.

But one of the things that I really miss in addition to my family... it´s drive with my girlfriend, I just want to drive with my friends. Weird?
We usually do some events where we saw beauty cars and after that we drive them in one of the best highways that we have in Chile. That´s something that I do when I´m collapsed or when I want to do something for clean my mind.

My girlfriend it´s usually the only girl on this events! it´s hard to find a girl who love cars!! Thats one of the points that what I love her jaja She always join me, she is one of my partners.

After all, I love be in this city.

That´s all folks!!

My first post from Chicago

Hi everyone!

So... this is my first post in my new blog, it's something new for me.

I'm Vicente Ferrer Padilla, I'm 20, from Santiago, Chile... the end of the world... really.
For lucky, I live in front of my work so I don't have to wait for the red lights, the traffic and all the people who are stressed.

I studied at SSCC Manquehue, it's a private school where I learned a lot of my society and social work.
After the school, I was at AIEP for studied technical at hairdresser. I studied at the mornings and after lunch I worked at my family's saloon.

My first cut was at my 15 years... I think... it was a long time ago. Many people ask me: Who was so crazy to accepted cut her/his hair with you when you don't know nothing?!

Well, she was one of my best friends at my childhood... now she is living at Paris.
Actually I work five days a week and I have many clients who look up for my services and that's something awesome for someone who is a little adult learning in this new world of the work. Some clients ask my if there is hard to work with your parents and then I answer: no, if you know who is the boss. (It's true)

I live whit my parents and a younger brother, he is 18. We have 3 dogs, but not in Santiago with us, they are at our lake house in Rapel lake (2 hours at the south of Santiago)

In the lake I practice some of my hobbies with my family like sailing, do ski and wakeboard (it's like snowboard but in the water). One of the other hobbies that i do at the lake it's ride my motorbike and race a cross the hills without a target, just go whatever I want with mi friends in their bikes and see the lake from the top of the hills.

I love cut hair... but there is something that I prefer from everything, cars.
Maybe in the future I'll do something with cars like a garage or something similar... if not, it will be just a hobby like restore, drive or race them.

Ok... the title, HERE IN CHICAGO

I come to Chicago cause I want to improve my english an learn about this beautiful city. At the moment I did some things that there are at my "buquet list" like see "the Bean" know people, sightseeing Michigan avenue and see some of the interesting buildings and statues because I love architecture too.

There is a beautiful statue, a enormous statue designed by Picasso at Daley plaza that I saw it everyday. I think that it's a woman because he always have their "musas" (the women who inspired all their creations). Maybe it could be a guardian because it have huge wings or a person who take him to another place or another lifestyle. Of course that sculpture was inspired from someone very important, that is why its so interesting see or think for who are dedicated that enormous structure and what was he think when he designed it... it's a mystery.

Two days ago, we was at Cultural center, it's an old building that you must to see everything, including the corners!! The works of the ceiling are great, to much details everywhere, the mosaicos, the marmol rock and the 2 glass domes have an incredibles works and one of them have the zodiacal symbols at the center.

In resume, these days there was awesome here, it doesn't matter if it's to cold or if it's raining, this city have beautiful things whatever you see.

This is just the beginning...
